About Us

Golden Torch Scooter Club 2009

The club was formed back in 1998 by a few local lads who had had scooters way back and wanted to get back on the scene. The earlier meeting were held at the Bulls Head in Burslem Square . After a while we moved to the New Inn, with the Landlord being well into Northern Soul and the club name being taken from the famous Torch club of the late 60's early 70's we were made very welcome.

As the years went by the club suffered from lack of support and if it wasn't for a few dedicated & possibly mad die hard scooter enthusiasts it would have folded there and then. The second blow was with a change of landlords at the New Inn and the change to a bikers pub, not wanting to start riding Harleys & Japanese crap we looked for pastures new and found a new home at the Huntsman.

For 2008 we have moved the startling distant of 30ft across the road to the Olde Crown following a slight disagreement with "the management" at the Huntsman.

With the unexpected closing of the Olde Crown we have now had to move again this time to the Green Star in Smallthorne where we have been made most welcome.

STOP PRESS:-- The Olde Crown is open again and we have returned to our original roots,

Racho & Rach have welcomed us back and we may even manage an open day later this year.

The club is now going from strength to strength becoming more popular and gaining national recognition.

There is only one way for the club now and that is forward, this year    the memberships will grow again & again, we have a nice influx of young blood into the club, alwaya nice to see and needed to keep the club going.

The club is as friendly as they get, old, and there are a few ageing Scooter boys, young, Lammies, Vespas, Auto's or nowt at all just into the music and the scene as we all are.

Come along any Tuesday at the The Olde Crown , Burslem and be sure of a proper Scooter Club Welcome, The Golden Torch Scooter Club
